Nearly a year and a half ago Craig Chambers opened Obsidian Beer Hall at the former Toggles Bottle Shop at 1420 Hewitt Avenue in downtown Everett, Washington. He’s built a great business and attracts people with a large and ever-evolving selection of beers, along with wine, cider, ales and non-alcoholic beverages. He features local artists in the Art Gallery and has events and promotions that build community. He told me he was recently approached by the owner of Writhe Pole Dance just down the street on Hoyt who wanted to hold a Community Pole Jam at Obsidian. It’s a great way to show how they offer a safe environment for empowerment, growth and self discovery through the art of pole dancing. Craig was all for it and on Friday night they brought a portable pole into the Art Gallery and Writhe Pole Dance instructors and those who attend classes took turns showing their moves and inviting patrons to give it a try. Here are a few Seen in Everett photos. Click photo to enlarge and learn more about Obsidian and Writhe at their links in the story above. Craig said he could see it becoming a yearly event.
