EPD Asking City Council In Everett Washington To Again Participate In A Police Reality Show

The agreement contains no financial obligation by either party. Filming will be conducted with
on-duty officers and will not impact any salary or overtime budgets.

Project summary statement:
The proposed agreement authorizes the Everett Police Department to participate in filming for
the television program “Police 24/7.” The intent of this partnership is to provide the community
with a transparent and accurate view of day-to-day police work in Everett. The program
highlights routine patrol activity, problem-solving efforts, and the department’s commitment to
professional, constitutional policing.

Participation is expected to support recruitment by showcasing the department’s culture,
training, and service standards, and to enhance community understanding of the challenges and
responsibilities officers face. The project also offers an opportunity to recognize the work of
Everett officers and reinforce public trust through open access to police operations. All filming
will comply with department policy, state law, and established privacy protections.

Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Production Agreement with Mulholland Media, LLC regarding
the Everett Police Department’s participation in the television program “Police 24/7″.

In June through November of 2024 Everett Police were one of several law enforcement agencies around the country to be featured on the show “On Patrol: Live”. This new agreement is for a different show that has recently featured agencies in Washington State including the King County Sheriff’s Office and Kent Police Department.
