According to the Public Information Officer for the Everett Fire Department, twenty people were checked for potential exposure to fentanyl while in a second floor courtroom during a trial just before 11:00 AM Thursday morning at the Snohomish County Courthouse in downtown Everett, Washington. Initial Report from Everett Fire 11:55AM: Everett Fire is currently on scene at the Snohomish County Courthouse for a report of approximately 20 individuals potentially exposed to suspected fentanyl residue inside a courtroom during a trial.
Out of an abundance of caution, all occupants of the courtroom were evaluated. At this time, no one is exhibiting any symptoms.
There is a significant fire personnel response on scene to assist with medical evaluations and ensure everyone’s safety.
Everett Fire is working in coordination with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
In an update at 12:35PM Everett Fire provided the following: All parties involved have been evaluated. No symptoms of exposure have been exhibited and no one was transported to the hospital. All fire and EMS personnel have cleared .
