There was a changing of the sign Sunday at the historic building that houses APEX Everett. Located at 1611 Everett Avenue in downtown Everett, Washington a new retro style sign with neon replaced the old Club Broadway-Apple Casino Sign. The building, which opened in 2023 houses multiple venues including 16Eleven, a premiere steakhouse and supper club; Kings Hall, a live music and event space that can hold hundreds for music, events and meetings; El Sid, coffeehouse by day and punk-inspired drink and entertainment space by night; plus Apex Everett is home to the the world’s largest collection of graffiti and urban art with the DogTown Collection, a testament to the power of creativity and self-expression located within the building that first opened in 1921 housing the Knights of Columbus and later became a Masonic Temple. In the 1980s it was converted into Club Broadway and Big Apple Casino, a multi-level restaurant, entertainment complex and off-track betting parlor. Shuttered for more than a decade the building was purchased by John Carswell in 2022 who is restoring it to its former glory while bringing life to the building and the downtown Everett, Washington entertainment district.
