For the second year Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is working with Great Yarns of Everett to create a color storm and “Yarn Bomb” the landscape. Here’s more about the event from the Arboretum’s website.
Yarn bombing, the art of adorning public spaces with knitted or crocheted yarn creations, has taken center stage, as local artists and crafting enthusiasts unite. Tree trunks are the canvas for this unique form of artistic expression, with yarn birds, octopi and pom poms hanging from limbs. After the event we save the wraps for next year or recycle them.
Color Storm is not just about brightening up the landscape near winter’s end; it’s also an opportunity for local knitters and crocheters to showcase their talents and foster a sense of community spirit. Participants have crafted intricate yarn installations, each one destined to evoke delight.
Every day throughout the month of March, visitors are encouraged to snap photos to share their impressions on social media with friends. The Arboretum is free to visit and open from dawn to dusk every day. Color Storm promises to be a feast for the senses, inviting visitors to see Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in a whole new light. scape near winter’s end; it’s also an opportunity for local knitters and crocheters to showcase their talents and foster a sense of community spirit.
