On Friday and Saturday nights in the 1950s – 1970s Colby Avenue was the place to see and be seen for teenagers in Everett, Washington. Cruising up and down the main drag through the heart of the city it didn’t matter if you had a hot rod or your parents station wagon. In the 1980s that tradition was ended, but it comes back once a year to benefit charities. Today, (May 24th) hundreds of vehicles in every type imaginable cruised up and down Colby from 6 – 9PM. El Sid Entertainment presented the movie American Graffiti at the New Everett Theatre. Memorial Day will bring the annual Car Show all along the downtown with vehicles, food trucks, vendors and live music. It gets started at 9:00AM. Here are photos of today’s cruise. Click to enlarge.
