Officials at Paine Field (PAE) in Everett, Washington have confirmed that one person has died following a plane crash that happened shortly before 3PM today. A spokesperson said Paine Field Fire was notified by the control tower that an aircraft went down in a wooded area on the west side of the main runway shortly after takeoff. The plane also caught fire. Crews from Paine Field Fire, Mukilteo Fire and South County Fire responded. There was one person on board the plane. The FAA and NTSB are enroute to investigate. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death and handle the identification of the victim. The runway was closed for a short time but has since reopened
