
At the Everett City Council Meeting of April 29th City Attorney for Everett, Washington, David Hall, issued the following statement to councilmembers. “I have a brief update on an issue that I know is important to all of you and to a number of our residents and that is a desire to eradicate illicit massage businesses in the City. We’ve been consulting with other jurisdictions around the State who are dealing with the same problem as well as with organizations like the Association of Washington Cities to develop an effective set of regulations and plan to come to you with an ordinance in a couple of weeks.”
In 2016 the Everett City Council held a closed door hearing to revoke the business license of a Spa in south Everett following an undercover investigation by Everett Police. Over the past couple of years a large number of businesses offering massage services and spa services have popped up in commercial storefronts and converted houses throughout Everett, Washington leading to an increasing number of complaints to Everett Police and City officials.
