
Investigators are on scene of a house fire reported around 8:00AM Sunday morning in the 3800 block of Wetmore Avenue in Everett, Washington. Arriving units found smoke coming from the home and quickly began an offensive attack. Here is the official press release from Everett Fire.
Two people died in a residential fire Sunday morning in north Everett.
At approximately 8:00 a.m., multiple callers reported smoke coming from a home in the 3800 block of Wetmore Avenue in the Port Gardner neighborhood. Fire crews arrived just over one minute after dispatch and found an active fire in the residence.
Firefighters immediately entered the home to begin fire suppression and primary search operations. During the search, crews located two occupants, a male and female believed to be in their 70s. EMS personnel immediately initiated lifesaving efforts, but both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crews brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.
The Everett Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. The Everett Police Department is conducting the death investigation, which is standard procedure. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will provide positive identification of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death.
