According to Police in Everett, Washington officers were called to a residence in the 3600 block of Oakes Avenue to a report of a domestic assault where a firearm may be involved. This occurred around 10:00 AM. Officers developed probable cause to arrest a person at the residence who reportedly told officers they were not going to come out. Everett Police called in the Region 1 SWAT Team and closed Oakes Avenue between 36th and 37th street. A negotiator was brought in to try and talk with the person. While that was going on the investigation continued into the domestic violence incident and Everett Police obtained a search warrant for the residence to go in and get the person involved. Shortly after 2:00PM the SWAT team was able to arrest the person without injury to them or officers. Oakes reopened just before 3:00PM.
