Today at the stroke of High Noon residents of Everett, Washington gathered in the near empty food court of the Everett Mall to offer messages of remembrance. People were invited to write messages on one of the construction walls that bore a huge timeline tracing significant moments at the property. Everything from the opening of the Sears Store in 1969 and its move from downtown Everett to the addition of White Front in 1971 followed by the opening of the actual Mall in 1974. The timeline continues with various expansions up to the current day where Brixton Capital is starting to develop the property back to an open concept. It will be called “The Hub at Everett”. Here are some photos of folks with their messages and a look at a couple of commemorative coins being handed out today.
