On Wednesday the City Council in Everett, Washington will get a more detailed briefing on the next steps in the plan to build a multi-purpose outdoor stadium in downtown Everett, east of Broadway between Hewitt and Pacific. They will also be asked on June 11th to authorize spending another $4.8 Million dollars to keep moving forward. The cost of the stadium is currently earmarked at $82 Million Dollars with the City of Everett breaking that down as: $42M Hard Cost (construction) + $20M Soft Cost (design, permits, taxes, fees, contingency, etc.) + $20M Property acquisition. The City says $40,152,923 of the total amount is required for the project and does not include costs related to debt issuance, interest payments or debt service reserves.

Here’s what’s being asked of the Everett, Washington City Council for action on their 3rd Hearing and vote on this request for three ordinances at the June 11th City Council meeting.
(A). Adopt an Ordinance creating a Special Improvement Project entitled “Everett Outdoor Event Center” Fund 342, Program 052, to accumulate costs for the planning and development of the Outdoor Event Center, including costs for design services, consultant and legal fees, and initial property acquisition costs for the Everett Outdoor Event Center Project in the amount of $4,800,000.
(B). Adopt an Ordinance approving the appropriations of the 2025 revised City of Everett Budget and amending Ordinance No. 4087-25 for the Everett Outdoor Event Center Project. The proposed Ordinance amends the City of Everett 2025 Operating Budget, increasing General Government budgeted expenditures by $0 and increasing Non-General Government budgeted expenditures by $4,800,000, for a total of $4,800,000 for the Everett Outdoor Event Center Project.
(C). Adopt an Ordinance authorizing and providing for acquisition, including through the exercise of eminent domain, of land and real property rights for the purpose of constructing the Everett Outdoor Event Center Project; and authorizing the Mayor to enter into agreements related to acquisition of the land and real property rights.
