Every May for over a decade the Everett Steelhead and Salmon Youth Organization have hosted a free kids fishing derby at Thornton A. Sullivan Park in south Everett, Washington. Today was no exception as hundreds of kids gathered with family, friends and volunteers on the shore of Silver Lake to try their hand at fishing. Prior to the event volunteers installed netting around the swimming area and loaded it with trout. Kids fished in groups from 8:00AM – 1:00PM. After the derby ended the net was lifted and now there are a lot more fish for anglers of all ages. Click photo to enlarge.
